IN PHOTOS | ‘Waray kuratsadors’ dance away Duterte’s Cha-Cha

Women farmers from Eastern Visayas danced the traditional folk dance ‘Kuratsa Mayor’ expressing indignation over the Duterte’s proposed Charter Change which they tag as a ‘dance of death’. According to them, Duterte’s Cha-Cha offers no festive atmosphere for women farmers as it will eliminate foreign restrictions on land ownership. EV farmers also said Duterte’s proposed government setup favors the proliferation of goons in provinces as it empowers local dynasties such as the Ongs and Dazas in Northern Samar, the Sarmientos and Tans in Western Samar, the Romualdezes in Tacloban and the Petillas in Leyte.
