Disaster survivors mark fourth Yolanda anniversary, launch ‘wave-after-wave’ protests

Three thousand-strong disaster survivors from Eastern Visayas converged in a mobilization last November 8, Wednesday, to demand justice, accountability, and an end to hunger, poverty, and rising fascism in the region. Simultaneous mass actions were held in the region’s capital, Catbalogan, and Catarman of Western and Northern Samar respectively mobilizing almost nine thousand Yolanda victims in the whole region.

CPP blasts US on Yolanda aid quip

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) called the United States as hypocrites when over the week the United States Embassy in the country posted photos and videos on their official Facebook account ‘throwback’ items related to their operations during and immediately after the onslaught of super typhoon Yolanda in central Philippines. Tacloban City is the hardest hit area leaving millions of properties damaged and thousands dead.
